The purpose of this note is to keep you informed of the status of bargaining.

As you saw in our recent Decertification Update, on December 29, 2021 the USW’s unresolved unfair labor practice charges caused the mail-in ballot votes from the NLRB’s election to be impounded. This means that the votes will not be counted until further notice from the NLRB.

Bargaining Meeting #54

After the votes were impounded, the Union requested a meeting along with another copy of the Company’s current offer, which was first provided on September 27, 2021.

In this morning’s meeting, our first since November 1, the Union presented a proposal which failed to meet the Company’s bargaining objectives, which have been clearly communicated since January 2021. The issues included previously discussed items which would increase limitations related to staffing and management of the sites, along with new proposals which would increase costs directly related to pay rates.

As we told the Union, we remain far apart.

The Company’s offer

As previously communicated, the Company’s current offer remains available to be taken for a vote by the membership.

As always, please let us know if you have any questions. You can find more information at www.embeaumont.com.
