This bulletin is responsive to rumors which suggest that the Beaumont Refinery and Blending & Packaging Plant will go back “on-pattern” if a contract is not ratified by YE21.
Regardless of what you may have been told by the USW, the Beaumont Refinery is not a pattern site. Over the course of 2015 contract negotiations, the Company spent over $20M while negotiating a six year deal which took the Refinery off of National Oil Bargaining Pattern (NOBP). We negotiated this deal and made this investment to reduce the risk of you getting called out on strike by the USW International for items which have nothing to do with the Beaumont Complex.
Although we are not a pattern site and have no desire to go back on pattern, we can tell you that it is likely that the next NOBP deal will include a three year term from 2022 to 2025. Under the terms of the Company’s current offer, our next contract would expire in 2027. Furthermore, the USW Local has not made a proposal which would align the terms of the Beaumont Refinery’s contract with pattern negotiations.
