The Company is aware of the employee effort to decertify United Steelworker’s Local 13-243. Employees have asked questions about this process and some have expressed concern about harassment and other improper treatment.
Under the National Labor Relations Act, employees have the legally protected right to decertify a Union. This applies to all employees represented by the Union and not just those who pay membership dues. Employees also have the right to oppose decertification. Employers, unions, and union representatives cannot retaliate against employees for engaging in any legally protected activity, whether it is for or against decertification. Details regarding these employee rights, and others, are provided on www.nlrb.gov.
