To: All Represented BMRF/B&P Employees
The purpose of this note is to provide you with an update on our ongoing bargaining with the USW Local 13-243.
We met with the Union yesterday, October 8, for the first full meeting since providing them with our latest offer. During the meeting, we provided the Union with requested clarifications to the Job Selection & Job Placement procedures, as well as the proposed combination of the lines of progression for Package and Warehouse Operators at the B&P.
In addition to reviewing these items we provided, the Union provided a one-pager with 24 proposed items they requested be included in our offer. Multiple of these proposals were included in our latest offer; however, the majority of the items increase cost to the Company, and as we told the Union, we are not interested in including them in our offer.
Though we asked, the Union would not commit to taking the Company’s offer to a vote by the membership, with or without the changes they were requesting. In fact, the Union suggested that whether or not they took the offer for a vote had nothing to do with the Company.
The next bargaining meeting has not yet been scheduled. As always, please let us know if you have any questions. You can find more information at www.embeaumont.com.
