Decertification Update – December 2, 2021

ExxonMobil Logo

To: All Represented BMRF/B&P Employees

It has come to the Company’s attention that the USW (in another attempt to prevent your vote from being heard) is creating a list of locked-out employees who have found temporary employment elsewhere in order to contest their votes in the NLRB’s ongoing election. This will not work.

As the notice of election stipulates, all USW-represented employees who were employed by the Company during the payroll period ending October 17 are eligible to vote. This includes locked-out employees who have found temporary employment outside of ExxonMobil. Your vote will be counted, and while you may have found temporary employment, we look forward to welcoming you back at the conclusion of the lockout.

For those of you who haven’t voted, we encourage you to give us a chance by Voting No for No Union before December 22!

What Else Can You Do to Remove the USW from the Beaumont Refinery?

In addition to voting “no” in the NLRB’s election, you may also consider signing the decertification petition.

If the majority of employees sign the decertification petition, the law allows the Company to withdraw recognition from the USW immediately without an election even if ballots are impounded. Following withdrawal of recognition, employees would no longer be represented by the USW, and the Company could return employees to work.

Please note, signing the decertification petition is separate from voting “no” in the NLRB’s election. If you have already signed the decertification petition and still want to decertify the USW, you should vote “no” in the election.

Any questions related to the employee led decertification effort can be submitted to Beaumont Area HR Department at Beaumont.Area.HR@exxonmobil.com.
